Atelier de théâtre in-situ / Site-specific theater workshop with Anne Hamburger (En Garde Arts)
Saturday, June 25 th – 10 am to1 pm , Amphi Champollion (Sorbonne) & the Latin Quarter
This innovative workshop will allow you to create a site-specific theater piece, and learn about the rules of this form which takes theater outside of traditional theaters, from one of the foremost artists in the field who will be visiting us from New York City. It is a unique opportunity for students and lovers of theater! The workshop will take place entirely in English, and will involve creative work as well as discussion. No specific preparation or experience is necessary, just bring your ideas and your daring! The event is open to all, but the number of spots is limited, so please book yours early via email ( Julie.vatain@sorbonne-universite.fr ).
Anne Hamburger founded En Garde Arts in 1985 and is widely credited with pioneering the development of site-specific theatre in New York. En Garde’s work has lifted up under-represented voices with the development of work focusing upon the salient social issues of our time. https://www.engardearts.org Anne Hamburger will also be featured in a keynotes event at Sorbonne the previous evening: you are also welcome to attend this conversation if you wish, to learn more about her work, aesthetics and commitments (June 24 th, 6-7:30pm, amphi Milnes Edwards).
This event is organized by Sorbonne Université’s Initiative Théâtre, as part of the CDE “Theatre and the City” conference: https://cde2022paris.radac.fr/cde2022/
